Perfume dupes and inspired fragrances, explained.

An inspired fragrance is its own product, made to remind you of a scent you already love.

What people mean by a 'dupe'

‍

A perfume dupe is a fragrance made to remind you of a well-known designer scent, usually for much less money. It is its own product, made by a different company, with its own formula.

‍

Inspired, not original

‍

Shaik fragrances come with an inspiration reference: our supplier lists the designer perfume each code is inspired by, so you can recognise the scent direction. A Shaik perfume is not the original designer product and is not made or endorsed by that brand. Its notes, strength and how it develops on your skin can differ from the original.

‍

Fakes are something else

‍

A counterfeit copies another brand's name, bottle and packaging and pretends to be the real thing. That is not what we sell: every bottle is clearly a Shaik product, with Shaik branding and its own code, as you can see in our product photos.

‍

What about testers?

‍

A tester is the genuine designer perfume, usually supplied to shops for customers to try and often sold without the usual box or cap. A tester of the original is not the same thing as an inspired fragrance.

Find the Shaik inspired by your favourite

‍

Search a perfume or brand you love on Shop by Inspiration, or use the search in the menu. For example, Shaik M 159 is listed as inspired by Dior Sauvage and Shaik W 406 by Parfums de Marly Delina. Each product page shows the Shaik bottle and box you will receive.

‍

Why the price is lower

‍

Designer prices include brand marketing and luxury packaging. At Luxe Esscents every Shaik perfume is 50 ml for $25 or 100 ml for $45: a way to enjoy a scent direction you love for less. See Shaik perfumes inspired by famous fragrances.
